Sammy + Sam // Crittenden Estate

I’m often asked why I love photography… and to be perfectly honest I don’t know what to say, because it isn’t really “photography” that I’m in love with – it’s the people, the relationships we get to be witness to, the real moments between family by blood and family our couples have chosen.  These are what keep our passion alive for what we do.

We could “photograph” anything really, anyone who has an iPhone nowdays is a “photographer” but shooting Weddings is something pretty damn special.  It’s a culmination of emotions, one-off moments, adventure and vulnerability all rolled into just a matter of hours, and our couples trust us to tell their story, to be their eyes.  I’m grateful every day for the life Shani and I have worked towards creating and the fact that we get to spend our weekends surrounded by such diverse people and expression is the bees knees!

When Sammy and Sam got in touch with me shortly after their engagement we were SO pumped!  I’d captured Sammy’s sister’s wedding a few years prior and already felt like a part of their family.  The “getting ready” part of the day felt like coming home.  They are Mornington Peninsula aka “The Ninch” locals and chose to get married literally just up the road from us at Crittenden’s Estate, a local venue we love for it’s chilled out atmosphere (I’m all for a relaxed vibe!) and golden afternoon light.  Please enjoy this peek into their day…
